ELEMENTS OF JURIDICAL PSYCHOLOGY AND PSYCHOLOGICAL LAW
civil, criminal, juvenile (in Italian)
GUGLIELMO GULOTTA
and co-authors
Addressed both to human-science professionals and to jurists, this book provides the former with basic elements of law, and of psychology for the latter, elucidating juridical norms, jurisprudence and, when necessary, the ministerial circulars which delineate the scope, contents and modalities that obtain in different ambits. Thus, a book for professionals, but which can also "professionalize"; both a cultural and training experience, a text to be studied and consulted. A tool enabling jurists, lawyers and magistrates to approach the psychological sciences, or, to enhance their knowledge of this discipline in areas where psychology can prove useful in terms of interpreting and applying laws (psychological law); psychologists and other behavioral-science professionals (social workers, criminologists, psychiatrists and sociologists) to become better acquainted with jurisprudence and the juridical norms governing areas related to their activity, while focusing on psychological issues from a normative and jurisprudential perspective. All will find here practical information enabling them to perform to the very best of their ability. For this reason, special attention has been given to psychology-related juridical methodology, bearing, for example, on how to execute an expertise, either solicited by the judge or by the other parties, on how to prepare for cross-examination. Furthermore, all these instances refer to a varied array of situations, such as child abuse, child custody, deceitful advertising, film censorship, trade marks and patents. The material is presented with the aid of numerous examples, and also assessment charts geared to evaluating such criteria as criminal personality, the ability to stand trial, to what extent one constitutes a public menace, the extent of psychic and existential damage, etc.
